Zanotta

Zanotta

Zanotta is one of the leading Italian furniture manufacturers. The company started its activity in 1954 under the leadership of Aurelio Zanotta and for the first years its direction was focused on the manufacture of standard furniture. But times were changing, and later the factory set a course for innovative and authentic interior items. After the death of the founder, she moved into management, which continued the family business and brought the company to the rank of world leaders in industrial design.

Today, Zanotta furniture decorates mansions, cottages, apartments. Some samples have become part of the permanent exhibition in famous museums: the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, the London and Milan Design Museums, the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Berlin, the New York Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and many others. During its half-century history, the company has been awarded a record number of awards, including the Compasso d'Oro (Golden Compass). According to the level of value and prestige in the field of interior design, it is otherwise called "Oscar" or "Nobel".

Many pieces of furniture have become iconic objects of their era, which can be seen in famous films and advertising posters of the 60s. One of them is the Sacco bag chair, in whose honor a postage stamp was even issued in 2000. Over the years, Zanotta has collaborated with many famous designers: Ettore Sottsass, Gae Aulenti, Marco Zanuso, Achille Castiglioni, Joe Colombo, Alessandro Mendini and others.

A special place in the online store is occupied by furniture designed by the famous surrealist Carlo Mollino. Many of them were originally made exclusively in one copy and stood at its headquarters. A competent engineering approach and careful study of every detail made them truly unique objects of their time, which could not be repeated without special skills and knowledge. The most popular models, which have already become classics, were reissued in new collections. Their properties and characteristics have been improved, but the recognizable design has not undergone significant changes. For example, the Cavour table had a leg made of whole walnut, and in Reale they replaced the wooden tabletop with a glass one.

In the showroom in Moscow you will find unusual furniture that resembles full-fledged sculptures or art objects. For example, a Mezzadro stool, Dan chairs, Fenis and other items. The catalog also includes a limited line of Calamobio dressers, of which there are only 9 in the world. Each has an ordinal number and an exclusive pattern ornament, unlike any other in the series.

Prices for Zanotta furniture depend on the selected parameters for each model. Dining and coffee tables can be ordered with different types of table top and legs finishes. For sofas, armchairs and headboards, you can also choose any upholstery material from the manufacturer and a shade from an extensive palette. Innovative materials with improved properties have been specially developed for some products. In the manufacture of the Quaderna table, a special type of laminated plastic was used, and the Lungometraggio model is a monolithic block cast from a composite based on acrylic rubber.
