In 1970, Zanotta launched the production of a "springy metal seat", metaphorically named "Mezzadro", which the brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni developed in 1957 (together with the Sella seat, produced since 1983) for the exhibition "Shapes and Colors in a modern house" at Villa Olmo, Como. Chrome-plated steel leg, seats, lacquered in colors: orange, red, yellow, white or black, footrest made of natural beech treated with steam.
